  • CTF Competition & Fundraiser for DC813 - January 21, 2017

Despite the posts in this sub-forum, we are active!

    We have a private Meetup.com group https://www.meetup.com/Defcon813/

    https://www.meetup.com/Defcon813/events/232397373/

We will be holding a beginners/intermediate CTF game which has a $10 seating charge for purposes of raising money for DC813. Cash payment at the door. There will be a grand prize given to the first competitor to get the flag (root). This is a boot to root challenge. Seating is limited. NOTE: This CTF does not include multiple attack nodes; this game is designed for beginners and those that wish to sharpen their CTF skills. An OVA file containing the game within a VM will be provided, upon payment, the day of the competition. All monies received will go towards the DC813 Meetup expenses.
I am not the one that set up the event, but if you are wondering what the fundraising is for, it's to pay back Ryan for the personal costs he's been incurring for the upkeep of the Meetup.com group and so that we can keep that up and running.

Our meetings are very sporadic still, but as we turn to developing the community some more, we'll be having more regular meetings. Hopefully we can do something before the year ends.

2007 or 2017? You can likely edit your own post for up to 24 hours after making it. After 24 hours, you can't, but if you state in public post what you want changed, I can change it for you. (Getting public requests for changes to a users own content being requested by that same user helps avoid implications that mods are altering user content without their permission or request.)

Yeah, wow not sure how that happened. It's 2017. Could you please change that TheCotMan? Thanks!

Updated year from 2007 to 2017. This appears to have changed the URL to this thread. If you have published a link to this thread, you may need to edit those URL to use what it is now.

        HTH, and good luck!
