Those who have taken part in BourbonCon during DerbyCon, know that it can always be a pleasant experience sharing stories over a nice glass of whiskey. I was wondering if anyone would be up for a small get together at Defcon. If people are interested, I propose the following guidelines (and they are of course subject to discussion):
If there is interest I will see about setting up a mailing list and a google spreadsheet to track whiskeys.
- Everyone who attends would need to bring, at least, one bottle of whiskey (of a size shareable with others)
- Whiskeys should not be something that you can get from any local liquor store (you may like buffalo trace, but you can pick up at Target).
- This does not need to be expensive just hard to find or unusual (though expensive and rare is always appreciated)
- examples of hard to find but not expensive would be regional distilleries
- Additionally, please make sure it is something at least you enjoy (you don't need to bring something everyone will enjoy but it shouldn't suck)
- Attendance will need to capped based on the size of the room, and of course age (e.g. attendees will need to be of drinking age)
If there is interest I will see about setting up a mailing list and a google spreadsheet to track whiskeys.
