    AppSec Village

Join the first-ever AppSec Village and immerse yourself in everything the world of software exposure has to offer. Whether you are a red, blue or purple teamer, come learn from the best of the best on how to attack software vulnerabilities and how to secure software. Software is everywhere, and Application Security vulnerabilities are around every corner making the software attack surface attractive for abuse. If you are just an AppSec n00b or launch deserialization attacks for fun and profit, you will find something to tickle your interest at the AppSec Village.

Software runs the world. Everything from IoT, medical devices, the power grid, smart cars, all of it has software behind it. Such a variety of topics will be reflected in our cadre of guest speakers representing all backgrounds and walks of life.

Be part of an inaugural group of travelers visiting the AppSec Village and choose from talks by expert community members, an all AppSec-focused CTF, contests that challenge your mind and your skillz, and more. Bring your thirst for knowledge and passion for breaking things, and you will be sure to enjoy your visit to the AppSec Village.

Why an AppSec village? DEF CON is now in its 27th year, and in recent times it has never had a village focused solely on Application Security. With the increased proliferation of software in every aspect of our lives, it is crucial to understand the depth and breadth of the software attack surface and how it makes us vulnerable on a daily basis.

Why us? We literally work, live, educate, breath and dream AppSec. Backed up by a thought leader in the industry, with proven experience in planning and creating events, and endorsed by OWASP, we believe we can establish a very successful and attractive village.
