We are bringing back the Art Contest for DEF CON with a few fun twists. If you want in, sharpen up your crayons - the deadline is June 15, 2020, and it will be upon us faster than you think. Submissions should be mailed to pictures@defcon.org.
The Theme
The theme for DEF CON 28 is ‘Discovery’. We’re looking to capture the feeling of learning something new and exciting for the first time. You can read our theme announcement with all the details here: https://defcon.org/images/defcon-28/dctheme2020.pdf
We’ve included some of the images that inspired the theme and the color palette to help you on your way.
There are also some guidelines:
Image quality:. 300 DPI. If you’re sending vector art, convert your type to outlines. The height/width ratio should be 2x1 (eg: 2’ by 1’). Portrait and landscape orientation are both welcome.
Theme component: We want the submissions to be about ‘Discovery’ and make use of the theme, but don’t let that feel like a limitation. Take our guidelines as suggestions. We want to see what Discovery means to you.
Entries will be posted on the DEF CON Forums for viewing and People’s Choice voting.
Winners get:
Free admission to DEF CON 28, Cash prizes and showcasing at the event. The winner’s work will be displayed at the venue with attribution, maybe even in the program! We look forward to seeing what you create!
