Unless it's a 1-900 number it costs whatever your long distance provider says it cost for a long distance call. Ask your parents. :D

yes.. but beware of the 1-809 scam.The 809 area code is in the Caribbean, yet most people are not aware that they are making an international call when they dial the "809" area code, since you simply dial 1-809-xxx-xxxx to make the call. No international codes are required.

Here's how to do it.

- Pick up your phone. Call your long-distance operator.

- Ask for a rate step from your area code and prefix to the area code and prefix you're calling. Assuming that your number is 202-456-1414 and you're calling to 801-718-2234, you'd ask for a rate step from 202 456 to 801 718.

- She'll either tell you or she won't.

hmmm... O.k, how do you find a numher to the certain Pay Phone.

Do you call from that pay phone to your cell phone and then it tells you the caller I.D? When I do that the number it gives is just 000-000 "Unknown Caller".

If it isn't posted on the payphone try your local ANAC number, pretty easy to get out of a TelCo employee if you don't have it. It's usually something like 211, 311 or in the 958 prefix. Or, here's a couple of 1-800 ANACs.. 1-888-324-8686 or 1-800-877-2278

You could also look through the payphone directory (http://payphone-directory.org) and see if it is in there if you can't find it another way.
