Cryptocurrency is a digital form of peer-to-peer money that is exchanged on decentralized networks independent of any central authority and is cryptographically secured. Networks operate under a set of programmatic rules, which maintains the immutability of a public ledger and ensures against double-spending. Although Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Dogecoin are the most well-known cryptocurrencies, other projects like Monero seek to address scalability, privacy, and censorship resistance in innovative ways.

The Cryptocurrency Village brings together leading experts in the area to explore substantive issues regarding the current state of blockchain technologies, regulatory landscape, and the general cryptocurrency ecosystem. The village hosts keynote talks, panels, workshops, networking events, and parties.

If you visit the village, then just ask any staff person (one of the fellows with a village badge) about the party.

If you cannot visit the village (because you failed to attend any village staff meetings and got locked out of Defcon capped attendence this year) then you can try asking on IRC #monero-events.

        Does that help?

The critical distinction between technological limitations and protocol / business model limitations and the impact of technological limitations at a given point in time on the development of protocols and business models. I noticed that it says this is a hybrid but when I went to the discord channel....so is there any way I could get permission to comment, just to get the conversation even started?

Many channels for villages, contests, events, etc will close down at night. If you get a permission denied message, it is probably closed.

I think there were a few channels setup with permissions to not allow Human but allow HumanPlus . I do not know if that is this case here.

Usually, those channels for HumanPlus but not Human have a small diamond/gem to indicate difference in access.

This suggests the channel is closed until the organizers are awake and available to staff it.
They have a schedule on their website: https://cryptocurrencyvillage.net/#schedule
Try joining the channel when they have a scheduled event happening.

If that does not work, and they do not respond here, try contacting them using the email or twitter contact information on their web page: https://cryptocurrencyvillage.net/

            For other people:
if you cannot see it or other channels, please locate the channel "Roles" (Under the "Info / News" section, near the top of the list of the channels.
The "Roles" channel (DEF CON 29) allows you to check a "key" which is a vertical list of Discord "Reaction" images and text describing each one, then a horizontal list of Discord "Reaction" images with numbers next to them. In this horizontal list of Discord "Reactions" you can enable viewing the described "class" of channels. You can select them all, to view them all. Note: choosing to view channels does not allow you to join them when they are closed, but it can make it easier to find them and other channel when you want to, especially if they were masked from view due to no having selected your roles.
        Working...
