TLDR - Supply chain shortage of ICs impacted our original project, (now pushed to DC30) however we just designed a new badge without IC's, its a number of hardware challenges (SMD soldering, reverse engineering, crytpography) and if challenges solved.. can be used as a functional device in another hardware hacking project (functionality redacted to prevent spoilers). Write up will be shared post con.
Full details on the shop page, but the reason we do some philanthropist sales alongside sponsorship is that we want to give these away for free at DEF CON to hackers doing good things. Spend time learning, having fun, cursing, and just getting more time with hardware hands on.
We still have some left for philanthropist backing, requires: Soldering Iron, Solder, Flux, Multimeter or Magnifying Glass (why not both?), and Patience.
