  • Things to do in Vegas when you're bored

Not that I plan on being bored, but it's kind of a pun... yeah, yeah, anyway my point is, I've never been to Las Vegas (and obviously never been to Defcon) so I was wondering what are some touristy things to do while in Vegas. They don't have to be tech-related. Bonus points for things near the Alexis Park. And any other advice for a first-time defconer would be appreciated.

Check out some of the shows. Blue Man Group and O are both excellent. BMG is fairly inexpensive during the week (if you get into town early and have a day to kill). If you have cash you can take a helicopter tour . For some big fun pay a visit to The Gun Store and shoot some machine guns. I also recommend checking out the Frys electronics that opened recently out there, apparently its fucking huge.

I return whatever i wish . Its called FREEDOWM OF RANDOMNESS IN A HECK . CLUSTERED DEFEATED CORn FORUM . Welcome to me

Looks like fun, but $50 for 3 min of airtime?! Ouch!

I've been wanting to do that as well, but it's quite a bit out of my price range.

Well this being my first post, I'll say HI.

Second, Vegas is pretty boring unless your drunk. Well thats how I see it anyways. Im twenty and I live here in Vegas and its not all fun when you get past the tourist attractions.

Things I would interesting in vegas 1. Strip Clubs, there all over the place and never check ID's

                    2. Gilleys@ The Frontier, its a bar, but they dont check ID's either and they have a bull riding machine which is tons of fun once you get enough drinks in you.

                    3. Gameworks is located right by thr MGM on the strip, they are a little more strict on the ""legal drinking age"" but have tons of video games.

                    4. Hard Rock Hotel, its right across the street from Alexis Park and includes some pretty cool rock mem.

                    5. If you want some ""clean"" working girls, then Parhump is the place to go for the local "cat houses"

                    6. The Forum shops inside Ceasers Palace has some pretty cool things, and tons of good lookin ladies.

                    7. Free attractions include the Bellagio Watershow(as mentioned above), Pirate Show at Treasure Island, exploding Volcano at Mirage, along with some tigers.

                    8. Freemont street is okay but after the show it gets lame quick, alot of bums and drunks. The one cool thing at Freemont street is the newly opened Neonopolis, which has movie theatres, bowling alley's and tons of bars.

Basically, get drunk, have fun, and stay safe.
Vegas...It's like Falluja but without a last call!

Sweet. I will give them a call tomorrow and find out about group discounts (i.e. how many people do we need to qualify etc). I am pumped...I have tried to get people to do this with me for the last 2 DefCon's (unsuccessfully)...It will be cool to do it this time around. I will post the info I get from them tomorrow.
