  • Question: Services returning to defcon30?

Hope I got this in the right forum - at DC27 there was a call for services where you could host something on the network. Is that returning to DC30? I didn't see it but figured I'd ask to make sure.

I've not seen anything official about it. For those that are curious, here is what the question is about:

Good question! let me ask the NOC and see what they say.

Did you have a service idea @cereal76 ?

Like other things, the energy needed to offer a service depends on demand and interest. So far, one person has asked about it and was asked what they would use it for, but no followup.

What would you plan to use something like what was offered at DC27 https://defcon.org/html/defcon-27/dc-27-cfs.html for?

Having some ideas to propose could speed things up if it is going to happen: maybe you can get an answer to both questions in one reply.
(Q1: "Will this happen?" , Q2: "Would you let me run my $idea_here?")

When it was asked in March, many deadlines had not yet expired. When replied in May, there were still a few deadlines that hadn't expired. Now we are nearly in July, and most of the deadlines for contests, events, villages, speakers, demo labs, workshops, etc. for DC30 have expired. I think the deadline for mention in the program has also passed. It this "service" item can happen, there won't be much time to make it work.

          Good luck!

Apologies, didn't see that I had replies to this thread. I honestly thought it would be cool to run DECnet. I can probably pull something together in time for con if it's a go.
