DEF CON is a large distributed convention where a great deal of autonomy to provide knowledge and information to fellow attendees is delegated to speakers, villages, contest, workshops, labs, trainings, events and even parties hat sometime have had puzzles to find and enter them. Some provide paths for education for people new to the topics or scope of content they cover. One example is the Lockpick village, which often has classes for providing help to people to learn how to pick locks. Many other things at DEF CON encourage teams of people to work with each other and help each other to learn.
We do not have any central system where there is a list of skilled people in various topics of understanding that want to volunteer to help others on-demand, one-on-one. Several people have attempted to start such a service where there is a bank of experts to help people new to a topic to stop at one place and get help, as there is HUGE demand from people to learn new things, but the number of people available to volunteer is tiny in comparison to the number of people that want to learn.
As a result of the asymmetric bias in favor of demand over supply, it has not yet worked as a one-on-one, on-demand service.
What has worked is what happens in many villages.... a presentation on at topic, where many people have interest, who all join at the same time to learn something. This has allowed one volunteer to education many people at the same time.
Look for the topics that interest you, and see what kinds of learning opportunities are available in the areas of knowledge you want to learn more about.
