At the end of last week CISA, along with other U.S. government and international partners, released guidance to urge manufacturers to create products that are secure by design and by default. The guidance (available here) gives specific technical recommendations along with core principles to follow in order to ship secure software in any products.
CISA also requests feedback on the new guide from any interested parties, so if you have any thoughts they can be sent to: SecureByDesign@cisa.dhs.gov .
This type of joint guidance is the first of its kind, but international collaboration like this is important both inside and outside of government.
