On April 24, NIST released a discussion draft of its updated Cybersecurity Framework. NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) is a U.S. government entity tasked with, among other things, development and the use of standards in technology-- both for U.S. Government offices and the private sector.
This early Discussion Draft and the comments and critiques it receives will be used to inform the more complete draft that will be issued next in this process. This preliminary document is intended to increase transparency of the update process and promote discussion to generate concrete suggestions for improving the Framework.
