On the day of, The biggest need is donations of labor. We have three crews that make everything happen:
- The Supply Run is the easiest way to help us out. Once you get your badge, join us for a Costco run at 1PM to stock the larder. You cover a portion of the shopping list, and we load it into the van and transport it back to the park, ready for the grill. Trying to kill time after Linecon? Meet your new best friends by schlepping meat in the heat. Have a crew fresh out of Blackhat looking for grub? Bring your per diem and feed 40 for the price of 4. Supply Run Crew get an early start, and some swag to boot.
- Staffing the Grill makes the BBQ happen, literally. Grab your friends or come alone. We train on site, and have all the tools for you. We keep you hydrated and flipping out, and new teams are rotated in hourly. Stay as long as you want, and walk away with more coveted swag and ETERNAL GLORY.
- Clean up keeps us in the good graces of the Parks Department. We practice Leave no Trace and leave the pavilion better than we found it. Starting at 9PM, help clean up to get each and every hacker out of the park and back to their lodgings. The park police kick us out at 22:00pm, so we get started early for, you guessed, more swag.
What else happens at Toxic BBQ?
- Peppercon always show up to burn off your tastebuds
- Homebrewers bring their finest libations to try. Kegerators of your latest are welcome. Contact us if you need us to leave a tap open.
- Weird food has been showing up with more frequency. Spin the Wheel of Jerky!
