I've been coming to Defcon for years- and this year I'm going to introduce my kids (16 & 12) to the shenanigans. They won't be out until Thursday night (Aug 10th) so we will miss the DC Kids meetup above, but hoping we can find kids through twitter/DC forum/etc (?). The youth Social Engineering stuff looks interesting.

Looking forward to this. Hoping that the meetup will provide all the cool places/things to do for kids. I have no clue where to start but want it to be max fun for them. Like soldering, lock picking, other challenges that they would think are cool, fitting the age range 8-13. Thanks, K1NGpwn

DEF CON Goons are there to answer your questions and keep everything moving. Hotel security is there to watch over their property. Each has a different mission, and it is wise to not anger the hotel people. Please be aware that if you engage in illegal activities there is a large contingency of feds that attend DEF CON. Talking about how you are going to bomb the RNC convention in front of an FBI agent is a Career Limiting Move!

If you have worries about Code of Conduct issues (abbreviated "CoC issues") please understand the capacity of DEF CON to support the Code of Conduct is mostly limited to the official DEF CON spaces. DEF CON groups handling complaints about violation still want to hear about them even if outside official DEF CON spaces near DEF CON, but capacity to make changes in non-DEF-CON-space is limited.
