    What can remote attendees do?

Can't attend Defcon this year :( Anyone know what is being made available remotely? It doesn't seem like they are sending badges out by mail. Any links would be appreciated.

When DEF CON in-person was canceled and everything moved to remote that could be moved to remote, most content was available for remote users.
Once people started to return, many people were still very worried about social gatherings, so there was strong encouragement for support to both in-person and virtual for each thing, where possible.

This created a greater deal of extra work for volunteers hosting content, which caused some to decide to abandon either in-person or remote, and not support both.

Now, across most of the country, people that wanted vaccinations have obtained them, few people wear masks or practice social distancing or reduced physical contact. Only a tiny percent of people are avoiding social gatherings or masking-up when going out. The people hosting each kind of thing at DEF CON consider their limited resources as volunteers, and most have decided to just support in-person content.

If this will be like last year, SOMA FM will probably have some online streaming. There may be some podcasters with interviews at DEF CON or "live" feeds. Some contests will have support for remote users as well as local users when access to play just requires Internet access. It is also likely some contests, villages of events may have people participating on our Discord server, but most channels will remain closed until we get closer to DEF CON.

Beyond that, it is "wait and see."

We do not have any official schedule posted. There are no public details on what contests, villages, events, etc. are going to provide beyond what is shown on the DEF CON forums. Once that more information is available, you should be able to review what is being made available and see which support remote access.
