First: I do not know of any plans to do this again or not.

When a copy of the DEF CON Media Server has been available in Las Vegas on the DEF CON network, it was available for WiFi users of the DEF CON network and users that managed to find switch ports to connect with cables, for switches directly using the DEF CON network. I've not heard details of a table with a switch just for media server contents. Jeff would be able to answer that, but I know he is busy.

I don't know what I am allowed to convey on this, so I will cite public content.
The https://dcddv.org/about Data Duplication Village claims it included 18TB of content. I'd expect that to be selected, curated content. So, with that as a base-line, 18TB or more.

Assuming you could actually get full speed, at 1 Gbps link and write to media at same speed, and uninterrupted, and assuming 10 bits per byte instead of 8 bits per byte to allow for some overhead for headers and more for each layer, then we get:
        18TB/1Gbps(assuming 10 bits per byte for overhead)/60seconds/60 minutes/24hours:
        18000000000000bytes/(1000000000bit-per-second/10bits-per-byte)/60seconds/60minutes/24hours: at least 2.0833333333 days

If 1Gbps is all that is available, will you be able to leave your hardware there, possibly unattended?

If there is a 10GigE switch and you actually have media that can keep up, and get data from the server a over 1Gbps speeds, then less than 1 day might be possible for 18TB. (Hint: MOST common spinning disks cannot write to disk at speeds for 10 GigE. Most NVMe are able to accept 40Gbps or more if heat does not force speed to be throttled back. Some SSD can accept 10Gigabits per second with same caveat for too much heat slowing them down.

If there is more than 18TB, then even more time will be needed.

I think one year, a switch with 10GigE was provided, but I do not recall that being public-facing with access to humans/attendees, or limited to NOC or limited to rack-mount with casino/hotel/convention data center space.
