    DARPA is hiring a Director for its Security and Intelligence Directorate. Below find the application directions for those who are interested along with some details about the opening:

    Full Time On-site position (Arlington, VA). Situational Telework available depending on mission needs. This position will be filled as a term position using DARPA’s Personnel Management Authority. This is not a general schedule (GS) position.




    Due to the direct relationship to critical national security activities, U.S. citizenship is required for the position, and candidates must be able to qualify for and maintain a TOP SECRET SCI security clearance.

    DARPA is seeking a Director for our Security and Intelligence Directorate (SID). The SID Director is the leader of the comprehensive security infrastructure for the Agency, including program protection of our research and development activities, oversight of our special access program control office, counter-intelligence, physical security, and continuity of operations. DARPA’s security professionals have a unique relationship with our world-leading technical program managers, creatively partnering with them to enable the speed and flexibility that defines the DARPA model while ensuring the safeguarding of our critical information. The DARPA Director has original classification authority, and our security teams often define the security approaches for emerging technologies across all levels of classification. The SID Director must set the standard by defining the innovative policies and empowered culture for the Agency and our security team, while ensuring that we maintain absolute confidence from our security partners throughout the broader Department of Defense.

    Responsibilities

    We are looking for candidates who have broad experience leading security functions for companies, Government organizations, and/or other innovation entities. A strong independent point of view on how security can and should be managed is required, along with the deep technical expertise with existing policies and practices to disrupt the system without breaking it. The ideal candidate will have:

    · Ideas for bringing flexibility and creativity to the role – facilitating new ways of doing business within DARPA and the broader DoD Enterprise.

    · Demonstrated innovative and creative thinking to solve unique security challenges.

    · Public and/or private sector executive experience in defining and executing complex program protection strategies.

    · Strong leadership and collaboration skills to maintain internal and external alignment with the security and intelligence enterprise vision.

    · Extensive networks across top experts within other government agencies, private industry, and academia.

    · Experience operating within enterprises at a scale similar to DARPA.


    A breadth of roles providing familiarity with the full spectrum of enterprise security, including:

    o Law enforcement, crime and loss prevention

    o Security education training and awareness

    o Insider threat, physical, industrial, technical information, and international security

    o Export control and foreign disclosure

    o Personnel, communication, and operations security

    o Special access program, sensitive compartmented information, and controlled unclassified information

    o Intelligence, and counter-intelligence

    o Science and Technology program protection

    o Countering foreign influence

    o Cybersecurity

    o Antiterrorism/force protection, and mission assurance.
