NIST Seeks Public Input on AI Work

A good chunk of work from President Biden's Executive Order on Artificial Intelligence fell to an agency with the Department of Commerce called the National Institute of Standards and Technology-- or NIST. NIST just issued a Request for Information from the public about the work assigned to it as a part of the EO, so if you have any input or thoughts you can follow the instructions in the Federal Register announcement.

CISA is also seeking public comment right now, but on a Software Secure by Design topic. CISA published a Request for Information in the Federal Register on December 20 looking for input from any interested party on a white paper they are developing titled "Shifting the Balance of Cybersecurity Risk: Principles and Approaches for Secure by Design Software.” The comment period closes on 20 February so you have a little bit of time to read the draft white paper and gather your thoughts. The link to the paper and to submit comments can be found on the Federal Register's site.
