Is Hacking a Good Field or Not?

I've been pondering a question lately and I'd like to get some perspectives on it: Is hacking a good field or not?

I know it's a bit controversial, but I'm genuinely curious about the potential pros and cons. On one hand, hacking skills can be used to uncover vulnerabilities and enhance security, which seems beneficial. But on the other hand, there are ethical concerns and legal implications that can't be ignored.

I'd say it depends a lot on your intentions. You could be a white hat hacker working for a company to discover vulnerabilities and help them strengthen their system. It's always good to have knowledge of hacking for obvious reasons such as security and for your own knowledge. Responding to your question, I would say that yes, it is.

Hacking when done ethically, may be an enjoyable profession. ethical hacking is the process of detecting and correcting security flaws in order to assist businesses in securing their data and systems. The field; also known as cybersecurity, is in high demand due to the rising amount of cyber-attacks. although unconstitutional hacking is negative and punishable under the law. So try ethical hacking with correct qualifications.🙂

I'm old and fortunately approaching retirement in a few years but I can give you some of my perspective. Back in my youth (late70's and into the 80's) it was fun to war dial, I do miss those days. The thing about hacking, moreover education, is that you can't get into trouble for what you know(presuming you obtained the knowledge without violating any laws,) it's what you do with the information that you know that matters. Personally, I want to know how and why things work the way they do and can I make it do more than what something was designed to do.

Now to get to the real point. If I were to go back in time and do anything differently, I would have kept my interest in programming and electronics and expanded on them. While not an all encompassing skill, computer programming can and will give you knowledge of how programs work, how memory works, etc. Using this knowledge you can learn more about what things are supposed to do and more importantly how they are not supposed to work and identify how they can be protected and moreover, exploited. Having this type of a background can help you tremendously if you get into cybersecurity.

i think it is. It s a prisoner dilemma, no matter how you need at least to make it painful for the attacker and sometime it mean to be one. Cause other wise it wont be better to play fairly and so everyone would cheat or become a hacker which is some kind of loop. a play game between mice and cat but nothing prevent you to be good side or not. well based on your own conception or moral i guess. Personalty i like it not as a main field but after getting harass by someone that has used osint i can tell you. at least get the basic knowledge it save life.
