    Retro Tech Village

The Retro Tech Village will be a place for people to bring their old gear for others to enjoy or help repair, and those young, old, and anywhere in between to get to experience the 'ancient' way of tech. It could be anything from a rotary phone, an arcade machine, a vintage computer or console running games, something new but done in a specific or retro style, or maybe even a 3 phase power sucking mainframe if one was ambitious and planned enough!

I would like this to be a collective community effort this year, so we can have an amazingly diverse selection of things for people to mess with, hands on.

Anyone bringing their own gear to share will be responsible for setting it up, demonstrating it, and most importantly removing it after the event. The more interactive the thing, the better it is! Think Burning Man rules though: Leave No Trace.

We want people (and non people too) to bring in some functional older computers, artifacts, or maybe demonstrate something new that has that retro style, aesthetic, or inspiration. Heck, it's BYOB, so if you want to make a retro LAN party and we'll work on getting everything wired up and powered! Anything really goes. While we will do our best, the chaos of DEFCON means that equipment demonstrated or brought in may be damaged, destroyed, infected with ancient malware, viruses, or worms transcribed from stone tablets, or presented to the Scavenger Hunt, so those who want to bring stuff in are encouraged to not bring anything irreplaceable or anything they hold sentimental value in, as we cannot be held liable for anything or anyone that gets damaged, stolen, hurt, modified, used improperly, or destroyed due to village operations (also we cannot be held responsible for broken windshields as far as I know). If we do end up with anything that could help with the Scavenger Hunt, make sure you as an DEF CON attendee get permission to use that artifact from the owner and let's be excellent to each other!

We're still working on updating media and such

Let us know what you would like to bring so we can work out what we'll need to support it. We are all super excited to make this a reality.
