Purchasing a DEF CON 32 preregistration ticket for a friend

I am treating a friend to Defcon 32 and want the badge,etc. to go to their house. But the Defcon online store doesn't allow me to specify a shipping name and shipping address. It only allows for billing information, and if I don't use my own information, the credit card doesn't go through. Is there any way to buy a ticket for somebody else?

Historically, with only ONE exception, the https://shop.defcon.org/ purchase is not for a badge, but for a code which was redeemed in-person, at DEF CON in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

The only year where badges were shipped was during height of COVID-19 lock down, when things were canceled and DEF CON was remote/virtual.

Since that one exception, since we have has pre-sale available for this, it has always been for a *code* which is redeemed in-person.

I do not know for certain how the code is delivered this year, but I would expected it is delivered via email or in a web session. If it is delivered via email, be sure to check your Junk/Spam folder.

It has been possible for one person to redeem more than one code during DEF CON in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

Do not share the code to redeem for a badge with anyone except those that should get a badge: first person to redeem a code denies other people from using the same code to redeem it for a badge.

So even having purchased during Pre-Reg, you will still have to appear in person and go thru the Linecon line to pick up your badge(s). It should start as one line for everyone, and then eventually split off into two lines, one for CASH sales, and another line for Pre-Reg.

You can either pick up for both of you and your friend, and then give the badge pak to the friend ( pak because it's the badge, lanyard, program, decals, DVD, batteries if electronic badge, etc) or pass on the QR code to the friend that will also have to go thru the line, maybe the two of you together?

My understanding is that you get the QR code in an email. I'm not sure if multiple badges purchased are in one or multiple emails.

If you show up that morning and there only appears to only be one line, don't worry, as you move along you'll eventually split into two lines, one for Pre-Reg, one for CASH.
