For our second installment of Phish Stories, contestants will take on the challenge of crafting a phishing email targeting a member of either the outgoing or incoming leadership team of a transportation company amid a recent merger. The DEF CON 32-Bit Bus Company has been family-owned for over three decades, specializing in providing memorable party bus experiences in Omaha, Nebraska. They are selling the company to an innovative east-coast limousine company known as Hard Drivin’ Luxury Limos.



This scenario takes place during the ownership transition phase, granting both leadership teams (2 outgoing and 2 incoming owners) complete access to all company information. The new owners have asked the old owners to stay on for one month to help establish a newly formed entity called “DEF CON 32-Bit Bus and Limo Company.” Routes, financial information, employee rosters, and customer lists are available to all four individuals. While Hard Drivin’ is not a local Omaha company, their commitment to preserving the name and identity of the company stood out from the other bidders. “Hard Drivin’ knows what it is like to nurture ties to the local community, and both Jean and Luis were eager to learn from us. We really felt a kinship with them which ultimately led to our decision,” Jeremy noted.

“We didn’t have much money back then. We had a bus, a few kids from the theater, and each other,” Jeremy smiled wistfully, “and Angie’s creativity!”
