    Attending 1st Defcon

    Hey guys,
First of all im hqappy to see you guys at DC32. I have been wanting to go for the longest time and finally work decided to go with it and get me a fully paid weekend at defcon! I want to ask about the pictures videos and live streaming policy. Obviously im going to follow the rules no matter what, but i was wondering about this as i definitely want to make sure i know what the basis of these rules are. Specifically id like to know a bit more detail on the streaming side, as i wanted to live stream walking around and seeing the different booths and such. Obviously if this is no bueno then i wont even bother with it. i just wanted to make sure i understood the rules put in place before i attend!
    Many thanks

I do not set photo policy, but this history of photos and video ar DEF CON is to ask permission from people before taking pictures or video which include them.
Some people looking to create content about DEF CON have gone the route of getting a DEF CON Press Badge. It historically costs the same as a DEF CON Human Badge, but has different requirements.

Please email press[at]defcon[d0t]org if you wish press credentials. Lots of people come to DEF CON and are doing their job; security professionals, federal agents, and the press. It wouldn't be fair to DEF CON attendees if we exempted one group from paying. If you are a major network and plan on doing a two minute piece showing all the people with blue hair, you probably shouldn't bother applying for a press pass - you won't get one. If you are a security writer or from a real publication please submit, and someone will respond with an answer.

If you are interested in connecting with a speaker for an interview the best process is to reach out to them directly to schedule. Most of them list their Twitter handle on the DEF CON schedule.
Try contacting the press email to see what they suggest for streaming content and if they know of policies.

There is a DEF CON Discord server (see link on main site https://defcon.org/html/defcon-safem...e-discord.html ) where people waiting for DEF CON hang out in a channel "#linecon" to chat using text, and some are willing to type answers about DEF CON in the channel.

There is an option for a fee for "Human Plus" if you don't already have it. You do not need HumanPlus if you just plan to hang out and just type questions or responses and read what people type.

        Good luck!

Is typing on discord no good?

Maybe you have an idea for a contest, event, village, community etc. ?
Try checking the pages to submit your idea for whichever DEF CON space it might fit.
Most are closed for this year, but there is a chance for next year:
        https://defcon.org/html/defcon-32/dc-32-cfi.html
Look at the left side of the webpage, and see the red or green font text that reads "Call for $name_of_thing" to see which name of thing where there is a call for it, might fit.
Then click on that "Call for $the_kind_of_thing_you_want_to_do" to see details on how to reach someone in that department.
Obviously, planning for DC32 started middle of last year, so it is a bit late for most things this year, but maybe your idea could work for next year?

If all else fails, there is email. If none of the idea above:
        * DEF CON Discord server and channel linecon for general pre-con discussion
        * Call For $thing : to direct your specific idea to a department using the contact information they provide: mostly email

You can default to the most generic email to info@defcon.org
