Hey guys, I'm trying to understand what happened a few days ago with my ISP's DNS server. Maybe you can help.
I (ethically) hack, using a VPN and a linux partition on my computer. Recently, I bruteforced a friend's website whereas I used a VPN. The day after, my ISP's DNS access didn't allow me to visit any website. This happened only with my linux partition, and I'm still able to connect to the internet from my windows partition (same computer). Also, my roomates can still connect to the internet (same public IP address).
I guess this is due to some anti DDOS protection my ISP is using, and that even while using a VPN it has been able to detect an atypical amount of requests. But I would like to understand how it knows that i was using that specific partition on my computer and how it blocked me from there.
I thought maybe you could help :)
Thank you guys !
