    Late Registration...

    Hi Everyone,
I registered this afternoon for DEF CON and am now seeing that all the workshops are booked. Am I too late? Should I try to get my ticket credited for one of the training classes?

Is it worth going to DEF CON if I can't attend the workshops? I'd rather not walk around vendor tables for several days and am looking for learning opportunities.

Noob here. Excited, but sad if I registered too late. Regardless, thanks!

People plan far in advance to get spots for workshops. This year, spots were consumed for most within a few seconds. Some users complained they never even saw any spots available when refreshing with the browser. Others reported the eventbrite app.

This year, the list of available workshops went up about 1 week before spots were scheduled to become available.

A forum calendar event was added: on March 20, 2024:
    https://forum.defcon.org/node/248758

That showed workshops spots would be available for registration July 7, at noon (12pm) pacific time.
That forum calendar events was exported to the main website "upcoming events" since March 20, 2024

Every year, workshop spots go really fast.

There is a "workshop swap" thread where people are trying to get or make trades for workshops spots.
The forums are not responsible for arranging trades, and does not act in any way as an escrow service. Each user chooses their own thing, "trader beware"

If you do not like the way workshop spots are handed out AND you have *constructive criticism* on how it could be done better, we have this thread for suggestions:

There is a lot more to do at DEF CON than workshops... Check out Villages, Talks , Contests, Demolabs, Communities, and more.
