On Discord there is a DEF CON server, and a channel for discussing DCG stuff.

To see other channels (which may include the DCG channel) you may need to assign new roles to your account on the DEF CON Discord server.
After joining, visit the "roles" channel and look at the last "post" someone made to the channel describing roles.
Locate the horizontally aligned emoji (reactions to that post) that have number next to them and select the emoji/reaction for each role you want to have.
The roles are described in the "vertically aligned list of roles" as a kind of "key" for what each emoji/reaction corresponds.
Clicking the horizontally aligned emoji/reactions will toggle a role in your account on the DEF CON server.
If you don't have the role, clicking it will add the role.
If you have the role, clicking it will remove the role.
If you post something to a channel, you can click on the your username preceding the text of your post and should see a pop-up with details about your account including the roles your account has enabled on the DEF CON server.
