Point Break took a lot of critical lumps for being a style-over-substance action movie. The thing is, there's a lot bubbling under the slick surface. Kathryn Bigelow clearly had some big ideas to smuggle to audiences under cover of surfing and skydiving. The review here does a good job of teasing some of those ideas out.
