Policy@ DEF CON presents Operation Horizon Veil, a global crisis tabletop simulation exploring how diplomacy, public policy, and international coordination play out when the world begins to fracture.
Imagine this: Radiation panic. Cyber sabotage. Information warfare. Mass displacement. In this scenario, players must lead their assigned nations, NGOs, or global institutions through ten escalating turns of chaos, drafting emergency policies, negotiating alliances, and managing the consequences of imperfect information.
The first ten turns will be fully remote and played via Slack, culminating in a live, in-person diplomatic forum on Thursday Aug. 7 at DEF CON 33.
Whether you're a newcomer to simulations or a veteran of complex systems thinking, Operation Horizon Veil offers a chance to grapple with the real-world challenges that don't fit neatly into spreadsheets or headlines. You'll learn and "experience" the difficulties and trade-offs of drafting policy under pressure.
