    Unmanned Wireless Penetration Testing Device

    Hey everyone!

We’re excited to share a project we’ll be bringing to the DEF CON demo labs this year: the Unmanned Wireless Penetration Testing Device.

This was our senior capstone project, developed to address the limitations of traditional wireless pentesting tools that require close proximity and manual operation. Our rover is built around a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 WH and uses LoRa technology to enable long-range communication, allowing it to crack WPA2-PSK passwords and scan for devices from over a mile away.

We’re planning to do a live, in-person demonstration during DEF CON and are excited to connect with others who are interested in wireless security, LoRa tech, and unmanned system design.

My teammate Ayaan Qayyum and I (Omar Hamoudeh) will be presenting at the event, and we’d love to chat with anyone curious about the build. This project was a team effort alongside Gaetano (Tommy) Smith and Harris Ransom, and we’ve open-sourced the entire framework on GitHub - https://github.com/hransom528/ECECapstoneProject.
