    Is this group still active?

    I am near to Manchester and this would be my best chance of meeting up with Defcon folks.

    I am a software engineer of 20 years experience who is trying to transition into cyber security at the moment.

    DC44161 Meets: In the current climate, the plan is to run meetups virtually, with a view to selecting physical venues, once it is determined to be safe to do so. Meetups will be held monthly, with a small selection of speakers and then a relaxed chat afterwards.

    Manchester is a large metropolitan city in the Northwest of England and has never had a DCG. I plan to
    open up the group, bring in local participation and offer my own time in a leadership role. We'll organise meetups, talk about relevant issues and also have fun, which is often a missing link in our world.

    Interests: Application, network, infrastructure and people security, however any subject that is of specific
    interest. If someone brings a neat RCE talk then great. If someone wants to talk about 'layer 8', perfect.
