If you assume there are no rooms, you assume wrong. AP is not the only hotel available. There are plenty of places to stay within a mile or two, and not all of them sell out.

And you could always sleep by the pool. The important point is, you'll be there right?

BTW, thanks for doing what you do, and welcome home.

        well said grifter.

the pool is always a cozy place to sleep, you'll be relatively undisturbed, the only down side is the lack of a place to stash your gear and grab the occasional hot shower. The pool furniture is comfy enough, to sleep/pass out on, but be warned the stripes created by the vinyl straps are a pain in the ass to get rid of.

:D indeed. sad part is that i had a room at the luxor...i was just too far gone to walk, or bother with hailing a cab..thus the queensize vinyl pool furniture bed i managed to push together sufficed for the night. on the bright side you don't have to worry about getting cold.

just remember living by the pool will get you:
              a) rolled into the pool after hours
              b) 0wn3d by the 5h4rp13z
              c) bitched at by the security if a) happens.

though if you do insist since it is cheap, be sure to pack anything like money, electronics in those big ziploc bags...

not one plain black regular sharpie this year, no sir.... this year there will be a handy arsenal of multicolor, including metallic, should some useful purpose come to light in the three day period
if it gets me nowhere, I'll go there proud; and I'm gonna go there free.

I saw those at the wal-mart, guess I need to go get some, I got some newer friends coming with me, so I think some fun is in order. Someone should sell sharpies there, might be a bit of a money maker :D

and no falling into the pool and drowning. Thats a bootable offence. Should you fall into the pool and drown, your carcass will be ejected from the convention and thrown into the ravine next to the AP. You will not be allowed re-entry.

And as the sun comes up, the trick is to roll in your sleep to stay out of the harmful direct rays. Once you roll into the rocks, it it time to get up. A natural alarm clock that sucks worse that a real one.

you know there are a few nice trees in the area that provide a bit of shade and provide a nice bungalow effect for those smart enough to pull your lounge under the tree... just my two cents
If I had a nickle for every time someone offered me ten cents to keep my two cents to myself... I would be a rich man.
