Yeah I called up and Michael at the front desk said that DEFCON had been cancelled... they are calling a a handful of people a day to mention this in case they want to think about their reservations...

Yeah, in addition to the whole DT incarceration fiasco of the past month, appearantly there is some concern that con attendees would cause a major outbreak of monkey pox if allowed to get together for any length of time. I guess this year just wasn't the year for another conference.. :(

Ok..enough of the same old rumor. Defcon IS NOT canceled. DT is not in jail. Priest was not abducted by UFOs. However, we have changed the location to the Precious Moments Best Western in beautiful Carthage, MO. Easy driving distance to Branson for good clean family fun. Adjust your travel plans accordingly.

Branson was described to me as a 1/100th scale Las Vegas by a friend unfortunate enough to be marooned there this week. Apparently, DefCon will be the single largest economic influx in the city's history. It will also mark the highest point of activity in the region since a regiment of Union soldiers purged the land of bison and redskins nearly 200 years ago.

See, that's a lie. Priest WAS abducted by UFOs. I know this because I was abducted with him. And that was the scariest event of my life, until I went to that precious moments website.

As for the creepy little fuckers themselves, I do find them cute in a deep, sick place I don't like to talk about at cocktail parties. When I'm not working, I'm usually trying to submerge that place in a flood of alcohol.
