Okay, Zac has given us the green light on the forums meeting. It shall take place Friday, 8PM-10PM, in the Zeus room.

The only condition is that there are two goons present at all times, and since I plan on being there, that means Noid, Chris, or Russ will have to be there as well.

What time does the DeathRace caravan get in? Last year, we met late at night on Thurs. because the caravan would be getting in about that time. And what about those going to the BMG show? What time is that, and when does it end? 8 seems awfully early. I don't see why we need a room reserved for us for a set time frame. Last year, we had nice conversations by the pool, with some people breaking off, others coming by later... it was all very informal, but it worked. We all got to meet a lot of people.

BMG is Thursday 7pmish... should conflict with nothing

Decision #1 (TIME):
Possible #1: Meet late Thursday night / early Friday morning
Possible #2: Meet Friday evening after vendors are closed but before hacker Jeopardy

Decision #2 (PLACE):
Possible #1: Meet outside pool #1 again, better define exactly where folk with be hanging out this year
Possible #2: Meet at someone's room.. this would be entirely tentative until said saint has a room # to distribute
Possible #3: Meet in a speaker room or similar, location set apart by one of the more powerful forum-goers

Really folks.. time to decide and lay out a DEFINATE. Otherwise this year will be even more confusion than the last.

I cant be there the whole time on Friday. Remember, I have a pretty huge job to do that starts around Thursday evening and dosent end till Sunday. I will, however, be able to swing by and mingle a bit.

I think that most definitely conflicts with the proposed 8-10 timeframe. I would think that with a 7pm show, we won't be getting back until around 9pm or so, at least.

Also, there is a lot of staff that isn't available Fri. night, even after the vendor area is closed. That is another reason we held it late Thurs. last year, before things really get swinging, but after most people have arrived.

That pretty clearly deliniates 8PM Friday. Now, Grifter, are you correct about your day? You ment to say Friday and not Thursday?

Personaly with all thats going on at Defcon I dont think we're going to find a time that works for everyone. If we do it thursday we miss the caravan folks or the Blue Man people or folks stuck at BlackHat. If we do it Friday or Saturday, folks will be all doing their own thing (or working). So whats the date and time that fucks with the least ammount of people? If we cant make everyone happy, lets try to make as few people unhappy as possible.
