LockPick Contest?

There's a picture of those homemade pics floating around, they're really impressive. The final lock was a Schlage Everest lock http://www.schlage.com/products/pdf/evrestss.pdf which no one (I think) was able to pick. It's got an extra sidebar thingy which makes picking a lot more difficult.--- The fuck? Have you ever BEEN to Defcon?

I would really like to see the line up of eveyone that entered... or just up to the semi-finals. Perhaps the fastest pick times of the whole contest too.
How about it KaiGoth???
1. Fastbob 3:42
2. RC
3. Qmark
I didn't get the times on the finals, but it seemed reversed.
BTW, I don't think any of the locks were schlages, they looked like ordinary quicksets and the padlock was a Master Magnum.
The lockpicking contest was very cool and very enjoyable to watch.

the final "lock" was three locks, a padlock, a deadbolt, and a normal doorknob lock. time stopped when you opened the door. it was the same setup as used in semi finals. I recorded two of the three finalists before my camcorder ran out of batteries, as soon as I come up with some time to edit and a place to post it I will give a link here. I heard there was some company there with prototype designs, possibly Schlage, that was allowing anyone to try to pick them. they had some of the best try to pick their locks and then they saw which designs worked best.

final round clear-up
Final round went like so,
1st - qmark
2nd - fast bob
3rd - RC
It was a three lock board as previously mentioned.
The schlage that people keep mentioning was most probably a "bonus round" and I believe it survived the con "unpicked"

Nope Blackwave didnt try, but unless a special homemade tool was in the possesion of the person trying I doubt anyone would have been able to get it open.
I know theres pictures somewhere of what you use, but basicly you take a key from a different everest, file the teeth off drill a hole in the back so you can throw an allen wrench in there, and voila the tension key you pretty much need to get it open.
This will work on allmost all the schlage everest locks as the side pn the same place on any of them except for the ones that are special ordered.picture of tension key (found it!)I like puppies
