  • Commonly Exploited Services...

    Bonjour!
I've been reading so many articles on the net about what services on a server that are always exploited. I've learned that this are the services...telnet, ssh, ftp, http, and snmp. Are there any other ways to secure this services? ( Rather than updating the version of the software )

    Thanx..:D

Yes of course, depending on what you are running there is configuration information as to how to harden your system.
(i.e. reconfiguring banners, changing acceptable buffer lengths, etc...)
    For example check out
    The NSA's Security Recommendation Guides
    http://www.nsa.gov/snac/index.html
    and
    Security-Enhanced Linux
    http://www.nsa.gov/selinux/index.html
... there are tons of documents out there written by quite a few companies, searching google won't prove you wrong :)
