    http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,3959,1227150,00.asp

eWEEK: For its part though, SCO has said that there are so many lines of code, and a variety of applications and devices that use that code, that simply removing the offending code would not be technically feasible or possible and would not solve the problem. Do you agree?

Torvalds: They are smoking crack. Their slides said there are [more than] 800,000 lines of SMP code that are "infringing," and they are just off their rocker. The SMP code was written by a number of Linux people I know well (I did a lot of the SMP IRQ scalability myself, personally), so their claims are just ludicrous. And they claim they own JFS [journaled file system technology] too. Whee. They're not shy about claiming ownership of other people's code—while at the same time beating their breasts about how they have been wronged. So the SCO people seem to have a few problems keeping the truth straight, but if there is something they know all about, it's hypocrisy.

I lost another keyboard when I read that the first time (via high velocity jolt). I will forever remember that quote.

A world of shit will rain down on SCO. IBM, RedHat, and most importantly Novell will crush the bastards. Not to mention their karma is fucked using the blasphemous name Santa Cruz Operations. May the hippy gods be swift in their punishment of SCO.

I used to think they were dead in the water, no real client base. Just some SLA clients that were keeping them alive.

Then I got into the hospitality industry. I keep working with vendors who want to interface my credit card software with SCO Unix based POS systems. SMS a major player in PMS/POS systems only uses SCO unix, same with Micros a major Food POS system.

Just when all hope of "go for broke" were up, this gets feed to me. Fook-in-A

They are using a tried and true all-american method of sueing for revenue. No press is bad press if handled correctly, and they have had their stocks reflect it. I truly hope to see them get thier asses spanked on this, and it to be an example of what can happen if you try to litigate yourself into profits.

To prove Che's point, SCO proves they're just a whore:
