Robert has been hassling anyone with logged aps for a couple of years, one would figure that if he was actually doing his job he would do some research first... that or actually get something done and stop the hassle and just add two letters to his unit.

Robert pokes his head out once in a while and sends his FUD messages out to several AP/logging/archival sites out there... It started a couple of years back, some shut their sites down, some kept them up, and some went "underground" sharing only with trusted sources just to be "safe"

there are several things this moron doesn't realize...
        1. it isn't unlawful, else the sites would have been taken down long ago.
        2. sending out FUD only makes his situation worse.
        3. he obviously did not use a spelling checker before putting his post online in a public forum.
        4. by simply making the site go away doesn't mean jack shit in the data being made avaible via alternative means.

Just FYI, WiGle is back up.

As BW mentioned, Morgester has been doing this for a couple of years now...and since it isn't illegal (by any stretch that I can figure) you would think that this is simply harassment.

The wiggle.net server isn't in California....but since Mr. Morgester visited the site, the info was cached, and is now available via a freedom of information request, I'd say his PC is in violation of the California statue.

Makes me want to war drive / map my town, but defcon does that for me once a year! Now what? Recheck all the AP's?

Hackajar, you can wardrive anytime, in fact folow the routes used by the Defcon teams. You can find out who shuts off their AP when Defcon comes to town, those can be worth extra points for the next defcon. :D
