    Yippee, I get to go to Course 2150A - Designing a Secure Microsoft Windows 2000 Network. Two questions:

    1. What other courses would supplement or beat this course;
    2. Is this a catch-all course or is there much more to be secured?

    It ain't a cheap course!

    Designing a secure Microsoft Windows 2000 Network, hm? Might I suggest as prerequisites or companion courses:

    2101A - Building Fireproof Buildings out of Dry Kindling and Gasoline
    2151B - Cooking Tasty Vegan Meals out of Veal, Pork, and Baby Kittens

    and, finally, you might consider the followup course:

    3201Z - Posting on the Defcon Forums Without Snarkiness

    Good luck!

        A course is useful to teach the 'microsoft answer' which is usually far from the truth. There's ALOT more to be secured than they teach (Work paid for it , I slept)

        Other courses all depend on what your interest is in taking these courses. If it's just for the tests, get an exam cram book and memorize as much as you can. If you actually want to learn, avoid any of the Microsoft sanctioned courses and buy a bunch of books on the topic of your interest.

          I disagree while this is well founded for the month or so before taking the exams I do not believe that you can obtain enough info from this book alone to pass the exam.

          Though many persons believe certifications to be a crock I will admit that I had alot of trouble with the net inf exam.

          I value my certs, actually it is a personal hobby to collect them. My employer sees the value of these certs, but they are also familiar with my skill set. We should promote obtaining certs the correct way. In addition I am completely in agreement with the statement "learn to answer the m...s..... way...." I teach both in my courses.

            I paid my own way through MCSE school (for NT) and thought it was a complete rip off. I know that learning the Microsoft way is just the official mantra and may not be real world, but I would like to know how MS thinks, it may explain why they always need so many patches on their software.

            As far as memorizing stuff, I have incredibly good short term memory, so which book do I need?
