here is a pretty decent show for those whom like watching physics-and-lore hacking...
    http://dsc.discovery.com/fansites/my...thbusters.html

... of course this fits perfectly along with monsterhouse, monstergarage and the rest of the junkyard build-em up type shows.

one of the silliest yet amusing veg-out programs is on FX networks called The People's Champions
    http://www.fxnetworks.com/
... it is like special olympics on acid!

The rocket car urban myth segment was pretty good. This where they tested the strap-the-JATO-on-to-Chevy myth and delved into the lore, it was the first time I had heard that Andy Granatelli may have been the origin of the orginal myth.

I could have done without the poprocks blowing up your stomach myth.

No way, watching nerds fill a pig stomach with soda and pop rocks was funny as hell....

They do get style points for putting it inside the skeleton. I watched the show while taking a break from a two week coding jag where I was playing Se7en and Naked Lunch over and over again in the background. The poprocks segment started me free associating the "gluttony" scene in Se7en. Just lovely.

I made my first deadline, now I get to sleep for a day! Then it starts again on thursday, but I'm ready with my Richard Nixon Vietnam retrospective with the really long director's cut of Apocalypse Now, Full Metal Jacket, and Jacob's Ladder. No rest for the wicked. No sleep till Brooklyn.

"Poor Bobo came to a sticky end. He was riding in the Duc de Ventre's Hispano-Suiza when his falling piles blew out of the car and wrapped around the rear wheel. He was completely gutted, leaving an empty shell there on the giraffe-skin upholstery. Even the eyes and the brain went, with a horrible shlupping sound. The Duc says he will carry that ghastly shlup with him to his mausoleum...''
