i have a panasonic camcorder model pv-dv102 and i used it religiously last semester and this summer i didn't take that many pictures so i stopped using my camera. i was wondering if anyone else has this model because now that i moved over here i want to use my camera and it doesn't want to function. it will record and take pix, but the uploading seems to be the problem.

i uninstalled all the components and then reinstalled them back, but nothing. i have all my connectors and whatever else, but whenever i try to direct connect from my camera to the usb port it "freezes", telling me to PLEASE WAIT for over 3 minutes. it would usually just take less than 5 seconds to recognize the G:\

have an idea why this is happening? thanks.

My brother has this camera and I want to get it too. I have burned his video to VCD just fine.

Have you tried connecting it to another computer? Or used another item on your firewire port? This can help track down if the problem is the camera or not.

thanks for getting back to me. no i haven't tried it on another computer, i don't know how the school lab would feel if i used it for my pix.

what did you mean "Or used another item on your firewire port"? what item?

      thanks,

I think he means using another item on your usb port, a different digital camera, or something else to see if it's the usb port, or your camera itself... I've had the problem with a digital camera myself... So try a different item in your usb port and see if that works

you know...come to think of it, i left my scanner back home because it wasn't working. maybe something happened this summer to malfunction my usb ports and i thought it was something else. so my scanner didn't want to work and now my camera isn't responding...

i don't have anything else to connect to my usb ports, like i said i left my scanner back at home because i thought it was toasted. what to do? >:-\

          thanks!

I'll bring over a couple USB devices and my laptop to check it out when I come get those gloves from you. We can try your camera on my laptop, and try something else on your USB port to see if that's the problem.
