Dc206'er John will be discussing radio antenna theory. This will be a prelude to an upcomming meet where we build antennas.

January Recap

January's Meet Recap

Headcount: 7. Very productive meeting. There was very little traffic off the
list so we were expecting a very small turn out or next to no turn out.
However we actually had a rather full compliment of people show up. Who I am
guessing will become the mainstay members. We took a large list about items
that we want to have presented and covered and discussed how to cover them
and what we need to do to see that the goals are met. Geek's ammo can MP3
server mod project was also discussed and he got some good advice on layout
and power concerns about batteries.

We have a tentative calendar for our next meeting. Stay tuned for next
months meeting! We will be covering cantenna's. We will be making some in a
rather "arts & crafty" kind of get together. So it will be rather hands on.
Bring a pringles can or a Pepperidge Farms "Pirouette" can. We will probably
be covering a class on radio theory and such *first* so March's meeting will
be the meeting that we will make cantenna's. To fund such things we may be
passing a hat for collections at Febuary's meeting so materials are provided
for those interested at our March meeting.

No, there was discussion on doing a 'Basic Electronics Skills' class. Basic breadboarding, soldering, schematic reading, etc.

Date Change

DC206 will be moved a week back to Feb 15th. This is largely due to the fact that 2600 is on Friday. Having two monthly meetings back to back doesnt make much sense. Also, it will give our speaker more time to finish his Power Point presentation. SO, next meeting is the 15th, NOT the 8th
