Well, someone else asked about Capture the Flag and ever since Defcon 11 I have been curious as well...
I'd love to hear from some of the past participants of CtF as to how much of a time investment during the con it was and whether or not they felt it was worthwhile.
Not really knowing the specifics, I can only imagine that all I'd really spend my time doing is untrojaning the OpenBSD installation and auditing the code of the "portal" (or whatever) application looking for exploitable bugs (or intentional code defects), or perhaps writing some sort of input validating prox(ies) to feed the portal application(s)...
If that's the case, I'd rather just enjoy CtF as a spectator... CtF seems like it would eat up way too much of my time at the con to really be worth participating in for me...
