    Zoning Codes

Okay, most Zoning Codes make some sort of sense. But I just found out that Colorado Springs, CO has a Zoning Code that deals with computers.

Here's what the Zoning Code states:

"In accordance with procedures outlined in the Zoning Code of the City of Colorado Springs, Chapter 6, Article 7, no more than three computers and or such devices can border a retaining wall in a residence." (Note: In a residence not a business)

They go on to talk about more crap, but I couldn't read anymore of it beacuse it was making me sick.

Who the hell thinks of stupid Zoning Codes like these?
Are they human or what. Does anyone else have stupid zoning codes like this where they live?

well, it now means that its a moral imperative that you put a minimum of 4 machines against the nearest retaining wall (note, that ruling only pertains to retaining walls) and power them on.

Sounds like someone thinks the computer's radiation will burn a hole in the wall. Actually I think someone gets jealous of folks who have more than three computers.

I wonder if that counts laptops.

They did talk about fire in a section of the code and the structural integrity of retaining walls.

Our City Council sucks and yes they are jealous if you ask me.

I think laptops count as the "or such devices".

          Shamelessly stolen from http://www.colspringshomes.com/military.htm:

"With two Air Force Bases, an Air Station, an Army Fort, and the United States Air Force Academy within its borders, it is easy to see how Colorado Springs is deeply tied to the military."

So, if you're in an Art Bell frame of mind, it could be for reducing the amount of concentrated EM radiation in the area.

Also, I believe Colorado Springs is the only place in the US where it is explicitly illegal to wardial, presumably also due to the bases in the area.

It is and its sad but what can i say.

Also, cell phones don't seem to work real good (sometimes not at all) near NORAD or its south coms tower. Now that I think of it my laptop doesn't work real good in that area either. :(

So one cannot dial while IN Colorado Springs, or one can not dial TO Colorado Springs? Seems to me a resident from there should be able to dial other communities at will.

You can make calls to and from, you just can't be near NORAD or the south coms tower if you want to use you your cell or laptop.
