Inquiry: Projects in need of help?

Is anyone doing any kind of programming projects. something simple or not. But im interested in finding one to obtain skills and sharpen the ones i have. I only wish to be payed in knowledge. I know minimal C++, some networking, Understand how to operate Linux and Windoze, and other such. ill not play up my ability with C++. i guess im just looking for a mentor to show me the ways. Learning from a manual works not for you only learn the tools and not the way of the tools. Programming i believe is a process of creation not repetiveness. but i am having trouble bending any language into a new form other than just the same old repetitive stuff. Maybe i started out on the wrong track. but still. the inquiry is there. and if you dislike this inquiry. Show me no malice for i have shown you none. And if your interested. i warn you. that you will end up probably teaching more than work accomplished but you can help someone achieve goals. General toasty feeling inside and such.

Just so you know. yes i have checked sourceforge but no one wanted to give me second look. google came up useless in the search. thought i would try here then go back to those.

I'm not sure how much development you'll really be able to help with. For starters both all of the currently active subprojects are written completely in C, and secondly the code isn't quite in a state where I feel collaboration with others will be particularly helpful. The specification for the most complex component is a bit mind boggling to read, but take a look and let me know if you're at all interested... I'm sure I can find something for you to do.

that does look a bit like the way naptser ran their file sharing program. uploading data to a centralized server. course it is a bit piggish to demand 2bytes to every 1 taken. that means your have more content going in than out.

shure ill help. but i figure my skills wont be as useful to you as you would like them to be. maybe i can do something a bit more low key until i get to understand more complex components.
