Ironic timing for the "Official Star Trek Con"

While reading a best of Las Vegas magazine today, I noticed the "Official Star Trek Convention" is happening July 29-August 1st.
I couldn't help but think that could make for an interesting expierience for people hanging out at Quarks during the con. Then again, A hackers vs. Romulans bar fight would be fun to watch.

Yes, our conventions are at the same time every year. It makes it a bitch to go slam Warp Core Breaches at Quark's because they close for the damn reception.

And it puts the staff on red alert thinking that folks are going to steal the menus and shit. I think they've named their food pretty hokily - not nearly well enough to go stealing them.

Something about that sobe and rum gets all synergistic on your brain. I've made
a clone of it at home but it's never exactly as good...not bad though!

They have opened a new attraction at the Star Trek Hilton and they have a new WCB equivalent drink, made with Gin. When I was there in February, they let us "beta-test" it. My wife and her friends went nuts over it. Definitely something to check out.

Not only that, but it's not like the Hilton is going to be giving away free beer and food. Unless you're sitting at table betting $25 a hand.

If you're gambling in one of the casinos (that has waitresses walking around), as long as you're at one the slots long enough to be noticed by a waitress, they will ask you if you want a complimentary drink (mixed drinks cost money).
