Sorry Kelvin, I do indeed love you just as much as the rest of us do, but I'm going to have to put my foot down, at least for now. I am going to speak with the rest of the DC Forums staff before allowing an official forum meeting to take place at the BBQ.

Although I am going to try and attend the BBQ event, it is off grounds and therefore creates a major disadvantage to the majority of people attending. This includes anyone who is defcon staff or has responsibilities (vendor, contest, etc). These people will have a hard time getting to the event, whether it is ten minutes away or one hour away.
Either way, the forum staff will discuss the issue and we will see what we can do.

BBQ Squirrel anyone? I think the issue is liability correct? If someone chokes on a hot dog will they run out and sue Defcon for tempting them to come to Las Vegas in the first place? Such is our world.

Correct. The only reason the BBQ is offsite, it would cause problems per blackbeetle, common sense, the Alexis Park, and the fire marshall himself. Thursday was chosen so that it would not conflict with other pre-conference traditions or the conference, con staff _might_ stand a chance to wander over, more people that want to be a part actually will be there to enjoy it, and it will not conflict with things like the forum meet... generally the forum meet has been done on Friday when all caravans have made it in; it is done on grounds so everyone and anyone (working or not) can make it, at least for a bit. Checking with nulltone to make sure everything is cool.. I don't want to conflict with the forum meet because I personally intend on being at both ;)

I can bring raw flesh to Q, side items, and adult beverages, however I'll need access to a grill.
Can I get space on someone's, if I provide bribes?
I can also provide grill expertise, labor, and semi-sober taxi services to/from AP....

I think it's be interesting if anyone wants to bring buffalo, emu, snake, yak, or other exit food. Kelvin has the cookbook for it I know, and it could really pique interested for TBBQ2.

I only know how to do buffalo and elk jerky on a grill and it takes really long. But if Kelivn has a cookbook that he doesn’t mind sharing, I wouldn't mind bring some exotic meat. I would also have to try and figure out how to get to Vegas from Colorado with risking spoilage.

why not purchace in vegas? i'm sure you could find a variety of exotics in vegas.... we're working on a plan that *might* make supplies available on sight, but at the very least, we will be publishing the name(s) of local meat shops and will see if we can work out any special deals. but it's too early for me to say anything for certain. just enough to keep you all wanting more.....!
