Dc Tv ???

Last year was my first defcon and i had a blast, however i was kinda disapointed in the anime chosen for the tv feed. i know not everybody is into anime but if your gona show it, lets atleast get the good stuff, i would be happy to provide if nessisary but mostly i started this topic just for feedback to see it my thoughts where echoed by the masses.

So you're saying that classics like Akira, Ninja Scroll, and Ghost in the Shell aren't the good stuff? Maybe you need to rewatch them.

I suggest hanging around outside / in friends hotel rooms / attending parties / attending talks / attending other activities like Hacker Jeopardy and the Black and White Ball as opposed to watching TV. If you're a TV addict and just can't step away, perhaps try watching the Defcon talks on TV? It's a great way to still experience Defcon even when you've been shut out by an angsty fire marshall

Ha, it's sad. Yet again, I spent half of my trip in Hawaii watching American TV and the world poker championship, so I'm not one to talk.

what little i caught of DC-TV last year was great, thanks for all your hard work. As for this year's schedule, I'm hoping to see less anime/crappy hacker movies and more just weird films and crazy/funny videoclips, some of the stuff i saw last year was fucking great.

If you're looking for new materials to air, i could send you guys some stuff.

Less anime and haXXXor "porn" (and I use the term loosely, perhaps "an atrocity of the A/V medium" would be a bit more accurate) and more... interesting material would be better. Might I suggest attempting to MST3K a movie like Hackers, Antitrust, or Swordfish?

Play wargames with the director's commentary turned on. We all seen WarGames but the directors commentary, for those who haven't watched it, is really interesting.

I like the idea of an MST3K for a bad hacker movie like Swordfish or Hackers. That would be fucking easy to do actually. Digitize the movie, overlay the "darkened theatre" effect on top of it in premier or finalcut and add to the audio track.... of course it also helps if you're funny.

Grifter perhaps i should have made myself more clear.... it's not that i thought the selections where bad... (i own all of what was shown), i just ment in there are more to pic from, and to be honest i was wondering if this was do to lack of intrest or lack of resources. im not complaining at all im just saying that perhaps it would have been nice to fallow up Ghost in the shell with somthing like... Armitage Dual Matrix, or mabe some series eps, like Lain. Im not some TV Freek who is critisizing the selections made last year, im just saying if there is more intrest i would be happy to provide :P

There probably wasn't a wide selection since most of us don't get off on Anime. I understand you do, and that is fine, but the majority of us like real people pr0n.

Man, I tuned in (being sick half the con) and had no idea what that crap was.
The day before, I was going through the dealer's room, saw the Jesus hackers
and did a 180...so I never saw the booth.
