This would be remotely interesting if it weren't for the fact that it's been known for years that anyone can spoof an AP and send a forged deauthentication frame to any device on the network. Ever wonder why wireless at Defcon just doesn't work?45 5F E1 04 22 CA 29 C4 93 3F 95 05 2B 79 2A B0

Bingo. Ask Pete and I about this. We were fighting this problem with the WD contest uploads at DC 10...and it wasn't new then.
Of course, an OP that decides this belongs in any forum other than Wireless Technology (where it has now been moved) is likely to think the sky is falling when he reads this.perl -e 'print pack(c5, (41*2), sqrt(7056), (unpack(c,H)-2), oct(115), 10)'Comment

It's not exactly the same. As far as I can understand, it's a lower layer attack than AP spoofing. The DOS should work on secnet11 wireless network (802.11b -based), as opposed to AP spoofing. Anybody cares to test :)Originally posted by basculeThis would be remotely interesting if it weren't for the fact that it's been known for years that anyone can spoof an AP and send a forged deauthentication frame to any device on the network.
