An alternative is to ask for sushimi (SP?) which usually doesn't have the bite that some sushi has. Both are served at any good sushi bar. As for the wasabi....green is the way to go....yellow leaves an after taste for me...and red is too sweet.Originally posted by astcellI went to Hokkaido, Japan and wanted to avoid the raw fish so I chose what appeared to be the most palatable, which turned out to be squid and octopus! I guess I can eat anything now.Life is too short not to enjoy....because you won't get out alive.

Rainbow rolls are good-Originally posted by NibowinWho Likes Wasabe Sushi?
It is not uncommon to cut wasabi with soy (mix the wasabi into the soy, stir until it turns into a greenish paste/mixture) to dip into. It adds a heavier salt taste though.
You may also see some people who use a vinegar/chillipowder mixture type paste (Koreans enjoy that)-

Im all for sushi. Even though I live in Tokyo i think i have had sushi like twice so far this year.
Sashimi is the other option. If the guys at the place speak japanese, Ill try my best to impress them with my crappy nihongo, and maybe we can get some discounts!

I'm totally there. I've always wanted to be apart of a flash-mob that crippled a sushi bar. If they run out, will we have to go fishing?
Lionel Hutz: Mrs. Simpson, in your own words, please tell us what happened after you and your husband were ejected from the restaurant.
Marge: We pretty much went straight home.
Hutz: Remember, Mrs. Simpson, you're still under oath.
Marge: We drove around until 3:00 in the morning looking for another open all-you-can-eat seafood restaurant.
Hutz: And when you couldn't find any?
Marge [weeping]: We went fishing!
Hutz: Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, do these sound like the actions of a man who's had ALL he could eat?
Fat Jury: [murmurmed agreements]
Fat Jury Man: That could have been me!
