  • VisualRoute for Winders

Heloo. I recently got myself a copy of 'VisualRoute 6.0a', even though it's a couple of years old, it seems really useful. My question is a) is it 100% legal to use? AFAIK it performs WHOIS lookups, and tracing connections and stuff, and these things seem legal enough, but I'd rather be sure.
Also, b) does anyone here use it much? Is there a better app I could use?
I'm not really sure what I'm after, coz all i use it for atm is for messing around with. Teehee :)

Whois, dig, traceroute, etc; all that stuff is publicly available. VisualRoute isnt doing anything more than querying publicly available sources of information, so go nuts. Heck, its just doing automaticaly what most sysadmins do by hand every day.

I return whatever i wish . Its called FREEDOWM OF RANDOMNESS IN A HECK . CLUSTERED DEFEATED CORn FORUM . Welcome to me

I tend to use web based features a lot as 1) they're free, and 2) why reinvent the wheel? Here's two that have a lot of features:

There are some whois servers who may deny/block access to them from an IP which they consider as abusing their services with too many requests and lookups. I've never found this limit, but it seems likely that someone has, as they would not likely create such a warning on those servers.
